this mural is a part of my "bedroom" in the roxy art tent in biarritz this year...

i was responsible for creating 80's driven surf imagery and this wall was empty so i drew all over it.

we are staying with the most amazing family here and are gathering some much needed rest and relaxation in the surrounding forests...

we will depart for biarritz after visiting the photo studio/ad agency that our host runs in a nearby city... funny how this has become a travel blog lately...

(this was creepy and weird and cost 2 euros so we stayed a safe distance away)

we stayed with my friend christian rothenhagen while visiting berlin...i always knew and respected him as a fellow artist, skateboarder and good human...

on this trip i learned of a new side of christian...the side that is a welcoming host and tour guide, as well as a true friend...he's one of the most genuine people i've ever known and i consider myself lucky to call him a friend...

these pictures are both from his home and his studio...

I have known his minimalistic yet strikingly accurate and beautiful berlin cityscapes for long enough that when i arrived here the city already felt familiar.

we set into motion a couple small projects that we will work on together until we get the chance to hang out again...in addition to his ongoing deerBLN project that i have been a participant in for over a year now...

because of him i have had a most amazing experience in this great city that he calls home...i look very much forward to the next time i will visit here, and as well the next time christian will visit my home in california...
